News

There have been many new and exciting things happening in the Ordered Steps Family.  We are all blessed,
happy, and healthy. God has so richly blessed each of our lives in the last few months.  There is so very much to
tell you!  Perhaps a family-by-family update might be easiest!

The Pharis Family
Greg and Marva are continuing to be blessed and amazed at God’s goodness. In June and July Greg spent time
in Kansas ministering as well as doing carpentry work. The meetings were wonderful many people were sav and
set free. God’s people were truly blessed by the truths that were taught.  In April Greg spent a about a month in
Kentucky working on his family’s farm getting it prepared for spring. He also was preparing the land to start
building the discipleship center. He hauled the sawmill to Kentucky on this trip. Now everything is in place to
begin cutting the lumber to start construction on the building. Greg plans to begin this phase in October. Marva is
busy taking care of the home front while Greg is away. She not only keeps up with her nursing and teaching
carriers but also takes care of the dogs and cat. Perhaps her hardest job is keeping the whole family in line! She
has also spent a lot of time taking care of her new grandbaby!

The Moore Family
Jerry, Melissa, Sarah, and Aden are doing well. We are all glad for summer time.  I (Melissa) enjoy spending time
home with the kids. Sarah is now 4 and Aden is 2 they are growing up so fast! Sarah is loving clogging and all
the cute outfits she gets to perform in. She is excited to be stating her last year of preschool she loves learning!
Aden loves cars and trucks and carries them everywhere he goes!  They are both full of energy and always
looking for fun! I also get the added excitement of caring for my nephew Caleb the days Amber and Josh both
work. We have so much fun! In June we vacationed in Kentucky, Indiana and Georgia with family. We had a great
time. It was fun getting to show the children places that Jerry and I went as children.
I will be teaching Exceptional Students Education next year at the same school I have been at for the last two
year. I will have about 25 kindergarten through second grade students with special needs.  Keep me in your
prayers! But, I am looking forward to the challenge! Jerry is doing well he is working at the same accounting firm
and will be teaching accounting classes at Edison State College in the fall.  Every free minute he has he is
keeping our two children entertained!

The Golden Family
Amber and Josh are proud new parents! Amber gave birth to Caleb Dean Golden on May 27, 2009. He weighed
8 pounds and 13 ounces. Amber and Josh have adjusted wonderfully to having a newborn baby. Caleb is a
precious baby. We all disagree as to whom Caleb looks like. Some say Amber others say Josh and some say
Papa Greg and still others think Papa Wayne. Yet, we all agree that he is adorable and absolutely perfect.  Josh
is back to work at the firestation; thankfully he was able to take about a month off to be at home with Amber and
Caleb! Amber, reluctantly, is also back to work at the nursing home.

Stallings Family
Miesha and William Stallings were married on May 7, 2009. They had a private ceremony at Eden State Gardens
in North Florida. The ceremony was elegant t and very romantic just what the couple dreamed about! The
newlyweds honeymooned in the Dominican Republic.  They had a wonderful relaxing time at their beautiful
resort. They returned to La Belle for their reception on July18th. Their reception was a beautiful event. We were
all excited to be able to share their excitement with them. It was a wonderful opportunity for all the family to be
together and enjoy a very special weekend! After their reception the lovebirds returned to Tallahassee and it was
back to school for Miesha and back to work for William.

As you have read we are all doing wonderful God is so faithful. We pray that you and your family are blessed.
We thank you so much for your continued prayer and support as we all seek God and accomplish all that He has
set before us.

Sincerely,

Greg and Marva Pharis,
Jerry, Melissa, Sarah and Aden Moore,
Joshua and Amber Golden,
William and Miesha Stallings
Rain is the biggest news from Kentucky.  Matthew and I arrived at the farm on October 14, it is now the
29th and we have had three days without rain.  It is raining even as I write this.  We are staying at the cabin, no
electricity and no plumbing.  Matthew is certain that God has called him to minister in the city.  We go to my
parent’s house in town for showers and home cooking so he is surviving well.
Though the weather has interfered with my plans to work on the ministry center building site, we have
accomplished many things.  The cabin needed some attention and we were able to repair and rejuvenate some
things there.   Matthew and I spend a lot of time in the Word and he is learning fast.
Matthew is taking pictures so all can see some of the adventure.  I am learning to be patient, and it is a
slow lesson.  The vision for the ministry center is for the discipleship of young adults.  This is happening rain or
shine.  The Lord told me not to focus on production but on the journey.  This is a new focus for me.  I have
always concentrated on production.  My most frustrating days are when I get nothing accomplished.  Matthew is
not the only one here in a place of learning, I too am learning, I am learning to focus on the journey.
My plans were to have the building under roof by the fall of 2010.  This is still possible if the rain ever
stops.  The building will have a living area of 2400 square feet and 3600 square feet to use for ministry stuff.
We plan to use some of the ministry space for housing the discipleship students.
It is our desire to use materials that are on the farm for the building and much as possible.  God provided a
sawmill and we will use timber from the farm to make lumber.  We are also working to make the center self
sufficient in electricity.  We want to help God’s people grow in Him and be free from some of the distractions of
our society.  We want to use a mix of modern technology and old school elbow grease to find a peaceful place of
healing and restoration.
Part of the discipleship will be learning to grow and preserve food; basic survival skills such as water
purification and first aid; basic skills with hand tools; and so on...
I do not know how long the job will take but I do know that we will learn much and many will be blessed on
the journey.  Mathew is the first but I know many will be touched by what God is doing here.  Miesha and William
are working toward spending some time here next summer and help with stuff.   We will simply trust God each
day and He will show us the way.
We are trusting God for all the finances needed to keep the journey going so pray and let God work in your
heart.  You could be a part of something touching lives in a fresh exciting way.  If everyone simply Prays and
Obeys, everything will come together.
